Le manuscrit a été réalisé pour le cardinal Jean d'Aragon dont les armes figurent au f. , puis il a fait partie de la Bibliothèque des rois Aragonais de Naples. Il a été saisi à Naples par Charles VIII en 1495, puis il est vraisemblablement passé dans la Librairie royale de Blois, où il ne peut être identifié. Il a été relié vers 1549 dans l'atelier du relieur du roi à Fontainebleau.
