Manuscrit composite. La première unité codicologique (f. 1-52) est originaire de Metz.L'ensemble du manuscrit a appartenu à la bibliothèque de Pierre Pithou (1539-1596), dont la signature est visible au f. 1r. Plusieurs notes de sa main sont également conservées.Jacques-Auguste de Thou (1553-1617), sa signature grattée est lisible au f. 1r sous lumière u.-v.Jean-Baptiste Colbert (1619-1683), dont la cote est écrite au f. 1 : « Cod. Colb. 2565 ». Le manuscrit rentra dans la bibliothèque royale en 1732, avec d'autres mss ayant appartenu à Colbert. Il reçut la cote : « Regius 5203.3 » (f. 1r).
Ms. restauré en 2017 grâce au mécénat de la Fondation Polonsky (dossier BnF 2017-094669-01).
