Notes

Data Source: Wellcome Collection - Online Collections

  • Fragment of a 'Computus', with Calendar. Written in a small semi-current hand. There are Calendars for February and November, with capitals and some entries in red. On the verso of the February table is the pen-drawn figure of a hand as used for counting (not for chiromancy as stated on an old museum label), within an ornamental border in red and black. Part of a similar hand is found at the bottom of the February table itself, but the lower half is missing as the leaf has been cut down. On the verso of the November table is an arithmetic text and a set of Arabic numerals of an early type.
