Copié en France, ce ms. aurait été copié en partie à Reims (selon B. Bischoff, voir Jeudy, 1972). Un ex-libris incomplet se lit au f. 74 : « hic est liber sc. ». Il aurait été en possession de Nicolas Le Febvre (précepteur de Louis XIII), qui a noté en haut du f. 40 : «ex libb. Anticimênôn » et serait (plutôt que P. Pithou, comme le pensait Wilmart, 1940, p. 204-205) responsable de la formation de ce recueil. Ensuite, il est passé à Jacques-Auguste de Thou (1553-1617) (cote du catalogue de 1617: [600]; Rosanbo [602] ), puis il entra dans la bibliothèque de Jean-Baptiste Colbert en 1680. Il a ensuite été acquis par la Bibliothèque du roi en 1732 avec les mss. de Colbert.
