Sur la garde inférieure, de deux mains différentes, on peut lire deux épigrammes au pape Pie II : " Epigramma pape pij secundi " ; " In juramentum pape pij secundi ".

Il est probable, comme le propose Marie-Thérèse Gousset, que ce manuscrit ait été copié pour Pandolfo III Malatesta, à l'instar du ms. de Naples (ms. XIII C 2) ou pour son entourage. Au f. 1, deux médaillons en losanges quadrilobés, environnés de sequins à pointe et de feuillages stylisés. Les armoiries du fils naturel de Pandolfo III, Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta, semblent être légèrement plus tardives. Ce manuscrit a par la suite appartenu au cardinal Mazarin avant de rejoindre les collections de la bibliothèque royale en 1668.
